It is our great honor and pleasure to host in collaboration with Iwate University, Rajamangala University of Technlogy Lanna, and Silpakorn Univeristy

4th International symposium on Application of High-voltage, Plasma & Micro/Nano Bubble (Fine Bubble) to Agriculture and Aquaculture (4thISHPMNB)

to be held at Ayutthaya, Thailand, May 18-21, 2019.

This symposium is initiated further to provide an open forum for the introduction and discussion of the most current status of innovative scientific and technological achievements in the interdisciplinary versatile fields of high-voltage, plasmas and micro/nano bubbles (fine bubble) applied to agriculture, aquaculture and food safety.

The  4th ISHPMNB 2019 covers an interdisciplinary variety of high voltage, plasma and micro/nano bubble (fine bubble) technologies including (but not limited to) newly-developed innovative devices, application processes, and integration technologies of both technologies.

To develop these innovative technologies for the advanced practical devices, the understanding and development of basic and new high voltage, plasma and micro/nano bubble (fine bubble) technologies are essential and rather inevitable. Also feedback between engineering and agricultural researchers is strongly encouraged to accelerate the researches.  

In this context, I am convinced that this 4th ISHPMNB 2019 is again very unique and most useful in developing rapidly emerging and innovative technologies relating to both high voltage, plasma and micro/nano bubble (fine bubble) technologies to be applied to agriculture, aquaculture and food safety. Through the symposium topics related to interdisciplinary fields, we will provide a forum sharing the research achievements in the fields related to high voltage, plasma and micro/nano bubble (fine bubble) R&D.  Also, key note lectures with novel topics which draw more attention to high voltage, plasma, micro/nano bubble (fine bubble) -related R&D communities will no doubt provide more in-depth discussion and understanding on these related R&D directions.

It is my great pleasure to participate again in this International Symposium on Application of High-voltage, Plasma & Micro-Nano Bubble to Agriculture and Aquaculture (4th ISHPMNB 2019), organized by Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, Thailand on May 18-21, 2019. This symposium follows the 3rd symposium held at our university last year, in which many researchers from Thailand and Japan came together to exchange ideas and discuss about ways to apply high-voltage, plasma, and micro-nano babble technology to agriculture, aquaculture and food safety.

Iwate University has four faculties, in which the Agriculture and Engineering divisions have shown good performance in education and research works. Innovative collaboration between Agriculture and Engineering has increased recently, as the revitalization of agriculture and fishery in Iwate Prefecture, where the university is located, is desired after the Great Tsunami Disaster in 2011. I think that innovation can take place through cooperation with people in different fields. A typical example of this collaboration is to apply high-voltage and plasma technology to agricultural products.

I think that it is necessary to develop industries such as agriculture and fishery through innovative research work in both countries. This symposium is perfect for the development of agriculture and fishery, and it provides good opportunities to exchange research information from both countries and create a strong human network.

Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to the members of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi and to those who organize and support this symposium. I am looking forward to meeting all the participants of this symposium.

Welcome to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya for the 4th International Symposium on Application of High-Voltage, Plasmas & Micro/Nano Bubbles (ISHPMNB2019).

Silpakorn University first joined the 3rd ISHPMNB2018 in Iwate University, Japan last year as a participant. The presented topics of the conference as well as the hospitality of the delegates and organizers were very impressive by our participant staff. Having also been inspired by that, the micro/nano bubbles workshop and research have started at Silpakorn University since then. This year we are delighted to co-organize the 4th International Symposium on Application of High-Voltage, Plasmas & Micro/Nano      Bubbles (ISHPMNB2019) with RMUTT and RMUT from Thailand and Iwate University from Japan.

The Thai government has introduced “Thailand 4.0” plan, which will drive innovative products through technology, creativity, and new methods. This plan covers several key industries, including Food and Agriculture and Biotechnology. The innovation and technology for such areas are significant in the coming decade. I believe that the fields of high-voltage, plasmas and micro&nano bubble (fine bubble) are among those keys to achieving the important goal for Thailand 4.0 and will aid the economic growth as well as sustaining the quality of life and environment.
